I enjoyed reading this. You’re lucky to have known him. I am reminded of the short story, “Gimpel the Fool,” by Isaac Bashevis Singer. Great story about a guileless man. Funny aside: When I was teaching American Lit at an Oklahoma prison, my students/inmates seemed to really dislike the story. On the other hand they much preferred Emily Dickinson to Allen Ginsberg; go figure.
